14/05/2008 - It's the way it is
I Do not have any problem with wanting Cardiff City to win the FA Cup final on Saturday.
I am Welsh and I want Welsh sides to do well.
But nor do I condemn out of hand Swansea City fans who might take a different view. Were the roles reversed, and Roberto Martinez's team were playing Portsmouth at Wembley, many Bluebirds followers would be cheering for Pompey.
That is football, where club loyalty shapes the way people feel about themselves and how others perceive them.
Hostility to the lot down the road goes hand in hand with being a fan. In fact, it goes a long way to defining some football supporters.
It isn't the way I think. But it is the way it is.
